Who we are

We, THANKS BROTHER, owners of thanksbrother.ie value your privacy and data protection and are fully GDPR compliant. We have outlined our how any data is collected and who and where is it stored, what purposes we use it for and how long the data is held for. A Brief Overview

The personal data collected via our website is based on what you enter yourself, for example in our forms or chat and what it collected as a result of analytics. By using our website, you agree to the use of these and have a choice if you wish to enter your personal data or not.

GDPR is now EU law which gives control to individuals on how their data is used.

We store the minimum information required to provide you with the service, share it only with GDPR-compliant processors when required for operational purposes, and do not let any other third-party link, track or access information about our users.

THANKS BROTHER is music band based on Ireland so we work under the jurisdiction of Ireland.

We are happy to offer the same level of privacy protection to all our users, not just those who are resident in the EU.

Contact Details such as name (first and last), email address, birthdays and phone numbers where applicable) via any or all of the following:

  • contact forms on our website for inquires.
  • where you have requested to be added to our mailing list.

Reviews & Comments

When visitors leave reviews or comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

The anonymous data collected automatically by our website

We use Google Analytics, Apple tokens and Facebook pixels. Their privacy policies are connected via the links provided. We use these to help us optimise our website and use these platforms to reach our audience in marketing campaigns.

In the event we use other tracking code, we aim to list it here. Please be assured, we only ever use tracking for our own benefit and never pass on analytics collect to other parties.

The purpose of anonymous data collection

The uses Google Analytics, Apple tokens and Facebook Pixels and we advertise our business using Google Adwords, Facebook and Instagram ads. The data collected does contain some personal data such as your device type or laptop IP. This helps us understand and improve our website to suit your needs. We work on the fact Google, like any other business, must also meet the requirement of GDPR. This data is collected through the use of tracking code built into our website and cookies.

Ticket Sales

All our ticket sales for gigs (headliners, support and festivals) are handled through 3rd party promoters and the venues themselves. While we always work with reputable organisers, we do not hold responsibility as to the use of data with these 3rd party vendors they may use and urge you to check their individual privacy policies to confirm your data collection with them.

Music

As music is our business, we use multiple platforms for users to listen and buy our music. We collect no personal data through the website for this and music in general is embedded from these music platforms.

What are Cookies?

THANKS BROTHER website uses “cookies” to help personalize your online experience. If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

What are your options?

If you are using Chrome browser, you can change a setting to Do Not Track which should apply for all browsing. Firefox also provides this option. Please be aware, if you don't allow cookies, some features may not work correctly.

Clearing Cookies in your browser settings will remove any cookies collected.

You can also browse using the incognito option in browsers, although your IP will still be available to Google.

You can choose not to interact with our website of course but we hope you are happy with our transparency and happy to do business with us through our website.

What is the Purpose of Retaining the Information that you Provide:

Where Data is Stored

All records (e.g. Name and contact details/photos) are stored on electronic devices (such as laptop/phone/ipad) and all devices are protected with passwords only known to the user

All emails are sent via Mailchimp which is compliant with GDPR – and always includes an unsubscribe button.

Our managed web and email hosting through Ki Business & Tech uses Hostpapa services and are also fully compliant with GDPR.

Who has access to your records and why?

The management team of THANKS BROTHER have access to your records directly. We value privacy and will ensure our team will always do the same. In all cases where a third party is involved, our DPO has ensured that these companies are fully compliant with GDPR.

How long we retain your data

Our policy is to retain data for max 2 years after the last interaction. Data protection law requires interaction to have taken place within 12 months. After this period, the data is marked for deletion every 3-6mths and will be deleted on the following cycle check. However, all records will be deleted at any time if you request it in writing.

If you leave a review or comment on your website, the review/comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data?

  • You can request to see all our records on you at any time.
  • If you think some information is incorrect, or not needed for the purposes outlined above, you may request that we amend it or destroy it.
  • You can request us to destroy all records that we hold on you.
  • Please allow up to 30 days for us to comply.

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

DPO may be contacted for all matters relating to your personal records. All requests for
destruction of records or requests to receive or amend records should be made
directly by email and confirmed by email read receipt and delivery.
